I have a job, but I started selling Avon to make extra money..

  1. Any other ideas?
  2. I'm not pushy enough, I am "scared" go ask if I can leave brochures in offices, etc....
  3. I want to treat it like a real business... How do I go about making up a good plan?
  4. I hate multi-tier marketing people, but the ones I've known that are successful try selling to everyone they know. Of course they run out of friends fairly quickly, and their families stop calling. The neighbors quickly learn and run inside when they see them approach. But they keep on selling. Eventually they find others that are equally as desperate and lonely as themselves, to sell to and buy from. I believe that is the key, look for hopeless people, and promise that your products will change their lives.
  5. Thanks for your help... and of course, if any of you would like to buy.... drop me another line.
  6. its not really a business plan you need, its to gain some confidence.

think of it like this: what difference does it make to me if that person says they don't want a catalogue? your answer is none. none at all. you walk away, end of conversation. is that so bad?

    or:

what difference does it make to me if that person says yes they do want a catalogue. maybe lots. they might have a big order for you which means cash in your pocket.
  7. Maybe you should quit being a wimp.
Why would you share this personal information with us?
  8. I'm having a lot of trouble with it.
  9. you write a business plan primarily when you need to convince a bank or investors to give you money. What you should do is find out who else sells Avon in your area, and also who sells mary kay as you will also compete with them. Think of possible people that may be interested in your product and where those people frequent and make contacts at these places. Don't be afraid to be assertive if you want to be successful. Also maybe try joining local womens groups or a church to make social contacts and widen your social base.
