How do you write a business plan for an adult company/porn?
I am working on starting a adult company in nothern New Jersey. I would like the answer or answers on writing a business plan and getting investors or lenders for an adult business company.

- It's going to be the same deal as any business plan - you'll need to know your market, identify your position in it, describe what resources you'll need, how you will employ them and what you will get back in return.
Assuming that your business is going to be legit, you will find investors will be interested in the bottom line. Having said that, depending on where you find your cash (banks for example or private investors), you might also have quite a strong emotional sell for some people.
For example, I run a property company specialising in chic eco homes in exotic destinations - many of my investors are involved because of their interest in travel or the environment, not just the return on investment.
Writing a good biz plan will help you answer many of the questions you have, including the types of investors you will look for. As a general rule, banks won't finance a new business unless you have some personal collateral (a house for example); private investors will be looking for a management role and/or above average returns (<10% annual yield minimum); private lenders will cost a fortune and are best avoided; business angels and private equity companies will demand a lot of credentials and ground work. You will probably be looking at bank facilities and private investors for this type of business.

-- in response to the answer below - as a serious business you'll either write a plan first (and most importantly, do the serious thinking first) or you'll spend money up front and end up trying to create a plan at the same time you are running a business. The biggest mistake I've seen new businesses (and I've worked with 50+) make are rushing to get started, avoiding the thought that goes into a good plan and then paying in cash and time later on.
most amateurs or first-timers will rush in though; experienced entrepreneurs (not necessarily investors though) will always plan.

Instead of spending the time, money, and effort to build a plan. Why don't you open up an online website with live feeds, or shoot the porn and then stream it up there from the web?
