- Yes you can but there is a per hour charge on it for consulting.
- There are several ways. First is to go to work for a salon and base your business portrait on the success and failures of that salon and/or ask the owners up front to see a copy of their plan. As long as you don't approach a salon that would compete with their business, there's no risk involved in sharing the information with you. If you work for the salon at least you will know if it's right for you before you invest time and money into your own business. Again keep in mind that one neighborhood may be far different in clientelle and potential than another. Your local library will have business plan books that are adaptable to most industries. You don't want to copy a published business plan and take it as your own. Those figures are highly over calculated from reality to show amazing profits and very quick break even points that are totally unrealistic in the real world but you use them as a guide. Your business plan needs to be as unique as you are. What are your strengths? What are your weaknesses? How many employees do you need? How much rent can you afford? There's alot to consider.
- ReferenceforBusiness.com has a sample business plan for a hair salon business http://www.referenceforbusiness.com/busi... . Read it and learn the structure and details that this plan has. Palo Alto also has sample business plan for a beauty salon, but it is not one of their free samples and you have to buy the software to get it.

- Go to the SBA source. It'll give you all you need to know, then go to the second site for samples. Just copy a sample and then make the changes you need to make it relevant to a beauty salon.
- There are sites available to find out how to write a business plan. However, if you want more practical advice, contact your local Chamber of Commerce or local small business association as they will be able to offer support with the level of information you will need and whether the business case is feasible before you go looking for finance. The advice will be from people who have set up businesses themselves and now want to share their experiences.
- I suggest 2 avenues of assistance:
#1. Contact your local community college...all of them have programs to assist new entrepreneurs and business owners as well as classrooms of business students. Business students are always required to prepare business and marketing plans for existing companies as class projects...most of them have a hard time finding willing entrepreneurs with which to work. Also, many college campuses have a business club called SIFE (Students in Free Enterprise) which would be happy to work with you in developing a small business.
#2. Contact SCORE (www.score.org) ... this is an organization of retired business owners/entrepreneurs who are out there trying to help new owners with all facets of getting started. They offer incredible resources as well as their own knowledge and skills to help get you off the ground and put you in the right direction.
